Baylee & Tyler // Manzanita, Oregon
I can never get enough of the west coast. Living in Tennessee is the best for different reasons, but it's the ocean that makes me feel the most at home in the world. Oregon is no exception - I never thought I'd find a place that I'd love as much as northern California, but Oregon is a close second (if not tying for first). The forests are like green intoxicating magic, the coast is open and demandingly wide, the weather is often rainy and gray, which I love (and reminds me of the UK!) and the trees are enchanting. I can't get enough. My dream would to one day own a little cabin out here so that we can return to Oregon as much as we can to get away.
Spending the afternoon with Baylee and Tyler out in Manzanita, about two hours west of Portland, was one of the best days of this year so far (also because I was with some incredible people at Adventure and Story with Gene Pease and Levi Tijerina - two of the kindest souls I know). Baylee and Tyler are still newlyweds, and it shows in a beloved kind of way, and I love that. We started with bright blue skies and shot both inside and out until the sun went down under the waves. This is exactly the way I want to approach every wedding or session I photograph, and it was so inspiring to spend the day with these two out on the Oregon coast.
Here we go, friends - I loved making these images and I hope you love experiencing them.
If you were into this, check out Torey and Ebba's engagement session up on the North Shore - it's also got some incredible views and wilderness feels.
