I remember Skyping with Peter and Jenny almost a year ago now - they were long distance at the time, Jenny in Minnesota, Peter on the east coast, me in Nashville - and I liked them right away.
The first few things they told me about their Minnesota wedding were that they wanted it to be a celebration with the people they loved up in the north woods of rugged Minnesota, close to the lakeshore. They said their wedding vows and exchanged rings in the church Jenny grew up in within a tiny town called Hackensack, close to Walker, Minnesota. You could feel the memories in that tiny church, you could see the joy on their parents' faces.
I still can so clearly see Peter, sitting with and holding his grandmother's hand outside the church doors, anxiously waiting for the ceremony to begin. That's the kind of people that Peter and Jenny are. They value their family and friends so much, and I wanted that to reflect in the wedding photos I gave them at the end of their wedding day. So many moments. So many tears, so many hugs, so many emotions. The resounding feel of the day was joyful - happy tears and happy dancing. The best and most intimate Minnesota weddings always end this way and I'm so glad I got to be part of Peter and Jenny's incredible wedding day in northern Minnesota.
