Joshua and Eastlyn | Sequoia National Park/Kings Canyon
I'm lucky enough to call these two friends. Eastlyn and Josh asked me to photograph them in honor of their five year wedding anniversary. Being incredible wedding photographers themselves, it was such a privilege to make their photos. There's nothing like the euphoria of being trusted to do what you do by people you love and respect, and that's exactly what happened here. The three of us spent the day roaming Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon in California's southern Sierra Nevada mountains, stopping whenever the light was right or the air felt best. From giant Sequoia trees to foggy overviews to the incredible views of Kings Canyon, our day together was the best it could have been.
There's something about Josh and Eastlyn that is intoxicating. Their friendship, the way they run their business and the incredible weight and value they place on every relationship in their lives is precious.
Now, here's to your five years wed. Five years of highs and of lows, five years of loving each other through the thick and the thin, the sickness and the health, the best and the worst, the days when you're skimming over oceans and days when you're home in Ohio. You couldn't have one without the other, the lovely and the dark. The perfect and the storm, the sun and the fog.
My hope in making these images was that all of the above becomes apparent as you hit play on the track above and start to scroll. I learn so much from you, Eastlyn and Josh - thank you both, from my heart. You inspire others to love as well as you do.
