I know what it’s like to feel stuck in your business and not sure how to move forward. I’ve been a (full time) photographer for eight years and I’ve experienced a lot along the way. There are times where you’re overwhelmed by the amount of opportunities knocking on your door, and there are times your inbox can become so quiet you send yourself test emails to make sure your inquiry forms aren’t broken. I’ve been there and I promise it gets better.
There’s a way to make freelance life/photography a strong and stable career that can last for years to come. When you’re building something like a commercial photography business, the direction you choose is crucial — especially if you want to be in it for the long game. In the past few years I’ve started getting emails from photographers asking for help in either wanting to grow their businesses or to completely pivot into commercial photography from another industry. Mentoring them has become a beautiful part of my work that I never expected but have loved.
